Here is a quick look at what Carolina Excellence focused on last week:

  • The human resources, finance and research administration sub teams for roles and responsibilities went on hiatus this week while the core team met and discussed the main goals for each work stream. We look forward to getting the sub teams back together next week to delve into this critical work.
  • The research project lifecycle team met Wednesday to gain an in-depth understanding of the current processes for award negotiation and set up, as well as conflict of interest review. We will work to identify specific causes of the challenges of these processes with an eye toward redesigning them.
  • Next week, we are hosting optional training sessions for early impact work in hiring and procurement along with more in-depth training on the new resources for cohort 2.

Each week, I end my emails letting you know to reach me if you have questions. We are intentional in how we are approaching change within our business operations at the University, and so much of that starts with you and your suggestions.
