Happy Friday everybody! Campus is buzzing in preparation for this weekend’s commencement.  Our teams continue to dig in on solution mode – and have made great progress this week:

  • The Travel and Expense Initiative team continued their conversations from last week about the complexities of our travel policies and began thinking about recommendations for change.
  • The HR Sub-Team for Roles and Responsibilities is working in two groups. The first group is working to understand how HR professionals move student employees through the system, as each school/unit handles this differently. The group working on procedure codification is well on their way to strengthening the hiring playbook with additional support links to reinforce best practices in establishing and updating positions.
  • The Research Design Team identified departments to learn from regarding their research administration functions. They also continued prioritizing potential solutions to streamline the award setup process.

Moving forward, I’d like to begin the practice of recognizing individual Operational Excellence champions. This week, it’s a lot of individuals – the dedicated Early Impact Hiring Design Team. This group has chosen to stay involved as we roll out to the cohorts. They meet each week (and we’re going on 29 weeks!), to perfect the playbook and coordinate and execute war rooms and trainings. They are true supporters of this transformation. Thank you team! We see you and appreciate your hard work.
