Weekly Update: August 16, 2019

Good afternoon –

This week I have an exciting update to share: As we approach the one-year anniversary of Operational Excellence, we’re introducing our inaugural Operational Excellence Award! This award recognizes the outstanding contributions by a staff member to the advancement of Operational Excellence’s mission and goals. We intend to honor the recipient at an anniversary celebration in early September.

Nominees must be UNC-Chapel Hill staff members who have been involved with Operational Excellence at the University level (design) or in their school, department or unit (implementation) and have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas:

  • Improvement: Advancing continuous improvement in administrative operations through the design or implementation of tools, processes and services
  • Collaboration: Establishing partnerships and contributing to an environment of collaboration to effectively solve problems by sharing knowledge, ideas and solutions
  • Leadership: Building and leading enthusiastic and skillful teams and/or championing innovative initiatives

To nominate a colleague, please visit https://operationalexcellence.unc.edu/operational-excellence-award/ and fill out the online nomination form by August 30, 2019 with as much detail as possible. If you wish to nominate multiple people, please submit a separate nomination for each individual. If your nominee is selected, you will be contacted during the second week of September. We are not accepting self-nominations at this time.
