OE Weekly Update – 12/6/19

Good afternoon,

As we head into the last month of 2019, we are continuing to work on the following initiatives:

  • Student Registration: This week, the Student Registration team did a comparative analysis of registration models used by several peer institutions. The team then discussed the impact and feasibility of implementing various models or select elements of various models at UNC. Next week, the team will begin brainstorming how to re-design our current registration model to achieve our future state vision for registration at UNC.
  • Data Use & Literacy: This week’s workshop focused on the dashboard that will be developed for the salary history data use case. Design Team members reviewed an initial draft of the dashboard and discussed what data would be useful and who needs access. They also brainstormed design ideas for a one-stop-shop portal that will house this dashboard and other official University dashboards.
  • Research: The team is designing a plan to roll out the playbooks and engagement model campus wide slated to begin early next year. Additionally, this week we presented an overview of Operational Excellence at the Centers and Institutes Director’s meeting, with a deeper dive on the research initiative.
