OE Weekly Email – 5/1/20

Good afternoon,

As we begin a new month, I want to update you all on some of our ongoing work. Our Operational Excellence transformation managers, Candace Reynolds, Jason Derrick, and Mieke Lynch, continue to move forward on these projects with the help of their incredible campus partners.

  • Data Use & Literacy: The team is completing final preparations to have a pilot group review and provide feedback on the Carolina Analytics Portal and the Salary Dashboard.
  • Executive Search: The team began the internal process review portion of the project, which involves documenting the executive search processes and creating resources.
  • International Student and Scholar Services: The ISSS team hosted three focus group discussions this week on the University’s J-1 scholar program with scholars, faculty, and administrative staff. If you would like to share your experience with the J-1 scholar program, please let us know by emailing Jason Derrick.
  • Student Registration: The design team recently distributed surveys to undergraduate students, staff, and faculty regarding their overall satisfaction with the current registration process. Satisfaction is one of several key measure of success for this project, and the results of the surveys will be used to establish a baseline measure of satisfaction. Following the implementation of the new registration process in fall 2020, the same survey will be distributed to undergraduate students, staff, and faculty, and the results will illustrate changes in satisfaction.
