After taking a break last Friday from the weekly email due to the holiday weekend, I wanted to share some good news. The Executive Search project was launched in April to improve the experience for the candidate, search chair and administrative staff. This project is led by OE Transformation Manager Candace Reynolds, partnering with Sara Reese, Director of Executive Talent Management in the Office of the Provost. We are especially excited about the opportunity to work with another hiring process on campus after the success of the Staff Hiring project.
UNC’s executive search process happens in three distinct phases that each involve different users. For this project, we are taking a different approach and targeting one phase of the process at a time for redesign.
At this stage, the project team is meeting with stakeholders to create a detailed process map of the first phase and learn which parts of the process are most challenging. As challenges are identified, the team creates resources to improve the experience. The team tests a first version of the resources, collects feedback and works to refine them. This continuous improvement approach will continue as resources are used in the future.
