Good afternoon,
This month, OE is highlighting Jeff Post in our campus partner spotlight. Jeff manages the building operations for Kenan-Flagler Business School and recently partnered with OE as a design team member, playing an integral role in the space optimization project. Here, Jeff shares a little about his background and time at Carolina, and his involvement with OE.
1. Share a little more about your background, career journey and time at UNC-Chapel Hill.
I’ve been with the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School for nearly 15 years now, working in facilities. I have had great success and opportunities leading me into operations management and facilities planning during my tenure here. I currently manage the McColl Building, Kenan Center, leased East 54 office space, some of our Rizzo Center conference space and our newest leased space at the Bank of America Tower in downtown Charlotte. We will also be opening our newly-constructed Steven D. Bell Hall next year. Prior to UNC, I was an operations specialist at Konica Minolta for 10 years. I really enjoy working on new projects and looking for ways to improve workflow.
2. What do you see as Operational Excellence’s impact on your work and the operations of the university?
Bringing in partners from multiple units on campus to collaborate brings out the best in major decision making. We rarely get to interact with our counterparts as it is easily acceptable to hunker down and get our own work done.
3. What do you do in your spare time outside of work?
Outside of work I really enjoy time with my three children, working on our 10-acre home in Alamance County and spending quality time with other family and friends.
