Weekly Update: Oct. 26, 2018

I hope you’ve had a good week. It’s been a busy week for the Operational Excellence project team. On Monday, Provost Blouin and I provided an overview of the project to the Faculty Executive Committee. We shared information about our listening tour and what we’re hearing in those meetings. And we made sure we emphasized that efficiency, not cost savings, is the goal of our efforts to streamline administrative processes.

In addition to FEC, we also:

  • Continued our listening tour sessions (25 so far), asking teams what they might do differently and what pain points they experience with administrative services.
  • Met with Shayna Hill, leader of the Employee Forum, and discussed how our team might include staff in our project.
  • Held our fourth workshop and brainstorm session with the design team working on the HR project to improve the hiring process; and
  • Scheduled our first workshop with the design team on the procurement project.
