Good afternoon,

I hope you have noticed the return of the Carolina Together Ambassador (CTA) program. After a successful Spring 2021 semester, the CTA program has relaunched to support our response to COVID-19 by combining customer service, event management and building operations support which promote positive health behaviors and the COVID-19 Community Standards. Most importantly, ambassadors help to make Carolina’s campus friendlier, safer, easier to navigate, and a bit more like “home.”

Since the first week of classes, ambassadors have already played a pivotal role in welcoming the Carolina community back to campus by supporting University-sponsored events such as the Week of Welcome, Smallfest and more. In the first two weeks alone, ambassadors worked a combined 333 hours at 10 high profile campus locations. Additionally, every week ambassadors will hand out hundreds of Golden Tickets to individuals they see properly wearing their mask or engaging in other positive health or community building behavior. Ticket-holders can activate their Golden Ticket by Friday at 5pm to be eligible to win gift cards from local businesses. So far, ambassadors have handed out over 5000 Golden Tickets and there have been 100 lucky winners

The CTA Program is accepting staffing requests for the Fall 2021 Semester. If you are hosting an event or manage a space on campus that would benefit from CTA support, please submit a request using our online form. Please note that the CTA program is running at almost full capacity for the first four weeks of the semester, so availability may be limited.

On any given day, there are over a dozen ambassadors working at various locations around campus with one primary question displayed: “How can I help?” If you see an ambassador at one of their many locations across campus, stop and say hello or ask a question you may have about the community standards or campus in general. You may walk away with a Golden Ticket!

Please feel free to share this email with your colleagues. You can also visit our website to learn more about Operational Excellence, read my previous updates and submit feedback. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at wernoski@email.unc.edu. I read every email.

Thanks,
