Good afternoon,

Last March, I announced that Operational Excellence was partnering with the Office of the University Registrar to launch the Course Setup — Waitlist Project. The goal of this project was to:

  1. Establish a campus-wide strategy for the application and use of waitlists.
  2. Evaluate and improve ConnectCarolina functionality to modernize the student experience.
  3. Develop clear and accessible information regarding the current waitlist process.

Utilizing the solution design approach, the design team spent six workshops designing a solution and a plan for implementation. Through collaborative efforts, improvements were made to the Course Setup Playbook. We worked together to add a comprehensive reference guide to clarify and improve the waitlist process. The new guidelines and changes in ConnectCarolina will be implemented for spring 2024 registration.

As always, we owe the success of OE projects to the collaboration and dedication of our campus partners. We are especially thankful to Vice Provost for Enrollment Rachelle Feldman, Assistant Provost and University Registrar Lauren DiGrazia, and Senior Associate Dean for Operations and Strategy Kate Henz at the College of Arts and Sciences, for their continued partnership.
