Good afternoon,

This Tuesday, the OE team hosted the second “From Problem to Project” workshop. This workshop aims to guide Carolina staff through the initial steps of the problem-solving process by using the  A3 framework and high-level steps to complete a project charter.

After the pilot workshop in December, the team applied the continuous improvement approach to our work. Here’s how:

  1. Self-Reflection: Each team member took notes throughout the training on opportunities for improvement. Each facilitator also took time to reflect on their delivery and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Participant Feedback: The team carefully reviewed participant surveys and incorporated specific feedback into the training design.
  3.  Collaboration: The OE team debriefed as a group after individually reflecting and reviewing the participant feedback. As a team, we decided what changes we wanted to make to improve the content and learning experience.

As always, we are grateful for the feedback of our campus partners. We collected feedback again this week and will use it to continue to improve the training.  But now we’d like to hear from you. How do you collect feedback to continuously improve your operations?

Please feel free to share this email with your colleagues. You can also visit our website to learn more about Operational Excellence, read my previous updates, and submit feedback. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at wernoski@email.unc.edu. I read every email.

Best,

Rick
