Good afternoon,
I am excited to announce the launch of the OE team’s newest project: New Student Registration Experience. This project will build on the previous work we’ve done with undergraduate registration and address one of the themes highlighted in our 2023 Listening Tour by focusing on the needs of incoming first-years at Carolina.
New Student Registration Experience aims to: 1) increase coordinated and consistent registration support during new student onboarding; 2) create an updated portfolio of registration support resources; and 3) improve first-year student satisfaction with their fall registration experience. This project will be taking a Solution Design approach; design team members include:
- Ben Haven, Office of Undergraduate Curricula
- Chloē Russell, Academic Advising
- Cliff Jones, Thrive Hubs Advising
- Jason Clemmons, Honors Carolina
- Justin Inscoe, New Student and Family Programs
- Kate Hash, Information Technology Services
- Katey Boyd, HOLD Capstone Student
- Lauren DiGrazia
The project is led by the Associate Director for Operational Excellence Candace Reynolds and Transformation Manager Madeline Snider. Launching this project would not have been possible without the support of our campus partners. We would like to thank Rachelle Feldman, vice provost for enrollment, Kate Henz, senior associate dean of operations and strategy, and Amy Johnson, vice chancellor of student affairs, for their collaboration on this project.
Lastly, I’m delighted to welcome Adams School of Dentistry Embedded Transformation Manager Leanna Martin to the OE team. Embedded transformation managers are dedicated members of the OE team committed to improving operations within a specific school or unit. Leanna has worked as a policy analyst, research assistant and database coordinator, using data collection skills to transform operations at nonprofits and academic institutions. She is currently working toward her doctorate in educational evaluation and policy analysis at North Carolina State University. Welcome to the OE team, Leanna. We can’t wait to see what you will accomplish.
